East Canyon- Mommy/Kids Overnight (5/3-5/4)

Julie Issacson, Alli Boothe and I took a trip to East Canyon with our kids.  There were three moms and 5 kids all 4 and under.  We drove up a Tuesday afternoon and stayed until Wednesday around noon.  We rented a cabin for the night.  It was a fun trip, although the next day everyone was exhausted.  All kids were asleep within 5 minutes of getting in the car.  That means that no moms got a nap :(.

Tuesday we played at the lake, had tin foil dinners and made smores.  Dustin Boothe and David drove up to join us for dinner and hang out for a bit since they both had to work.  Jonas went down for bed late and was sleeping by the time everyone else went in for bed around 9pm, but then he got woken up and ended up being the last little jabber jaws to bed at 10:30pm.

Wednesday morning it was really cold and everyone was up bright and early.  Jonas woke up first at 5:30am.  Yeah!  Since it was so cold, we mostly played in the cabin.  The kids made forts with the blankets and loved it.  We ventured outside for breakfast and cooked eggs and sausage over the fire for yummy breakfast burritos.

Later we set off for a hike that ended early because kids were exhausted and falling apart.  Mainly Porter and Max.  Those two might need their sleep the most.

When we got home, we jumped in the shower and then washed all our stinky clothes.  Once everything was cleaned up and put away we all felt better.

All in all, it was a fun trip and I think we'll do it again.  Although, Alli says we should all have our own cabins so maybe the kids could sleep better.... maybe.
