Family Pictures (10/31)

We took family photos by Suicide Rock and they turned out great. I love seeing my sweet family and thinking, I can't believe this family is mine.

Sneak Preview:

Porter's famous smile for the camera.
When he saw this picture he said, "What am I saying?  Am I crying?  Why am I crying?"

I had to break it to him that when we ask him to smile, that's what he gives us.

Shopping with Kids (10/30)

There's a reason I don't do this unless I have to.  It's a circus.

Ward Halloween Party

One of my callings at church is the Activity Chair.  My first party was the Ward Halloween Party.  It's a pretty big deal because every household in our neighborhood is invited. We put fliers at every home. Well, we had it catered by Oscar (he gave us a really good deal), a real chef.  The food was delicious, Chicken Alfredo and Spaghetti with Red Sauce. There were a lot of people and even more food.  There were so many people we had to forgo the planned activities because people were still getting food.  I think everyone had fun and then of course the kids enjoyed trunk or treating.

I took a few photos of the before so I could remember some of our decorations.

No never, I don't want it, take it away... (10/27)

Porter is in this phase where if he doesn't get his way immediately he is telling us to take it away, throw it away, he never wants it, take You Tube off your phone, give it to so and so, blah blah blah.  David and I think it's pretty humorous because he is so dramatic.  Well the other day he wanted an ice cream sandwich and I said 'no'.  He went into his normal tirade of, "Throw it away, I never want it again, etc etc."  He then marched himself outside and threw it away in the trash can.  David and I were able to capture him in the act.  And, then after he throws the item away, in this case the ice cream cone, he of course changes his mind and wants it back.  Too bad for him, but I did not let him climb in the trash can after it.  Hopefully that will teach him a lesson.

And a shot of Porter running free, literally, outside.

Grandparents (10/22-10/28)

Grandma and Grandpa Bailly and Mimi all came to visit in October.  There was lots of lovin' on our two sweet boys.  And, lots of spoiling.  Grandma and Grandpa stayed the weekend with us and we went on hikes up Millcreek Canyon, played at the Church History Museum, worked on projects and played with Porter's new lego sets.   We also went to a Halloween festival at Laird Park and then David and I had a chance to go to the Zech's Halloween party for a bit too while Grandma and Grandpa watched the kids.

Testing his boundaries.  He knew he was only supposed to stay on the path.

His first attempt at stairs.

So proud.  Once he tackled it at the Church history Museum, it gave him the courage to do it at home and he hasn't looked back.

Blowing off the porch.

Moving the rugs just like dad does when he blows.

Porter and Mimi worked on Halloween crafts, practiced Halloween faces and we took Mimi to Jungle Jim's where Porter confirmed that he does not like the roller coaster ride even if Dad goes with him.

Building a Halloween house.  Once it was built, Porter then decided to change it up and promoting deconstructed to start building something else just like he was playing with his Legos.

Pooping and hiding is a daily event at our house.  We are trying to get Porter to at least go to the bathroom over his preferred spot outside since it's getting cold.  Well he was doing his job in the bathroom and it was a little too quiet and next thing I know he's in the kitchen getting the broom.  So we followed him to see why...

At least it didn't end up in the toilet like last time.  And I'm glad to see he cleans up his messes.

Practicing his Home Alone face.

So happy he is getting better at driving these.
