One Last Hoorah!

This past week David interviewed in Philadelphia at CHOP and after confirming Monday that it didn't look like I was going into labor anytime soon, I booked a train ticket to meet David.  It was such a blast and I am so glad that we had this little mini vacation.  We also celebrated David's 37th birthday and.... the results that he passed his cardiology boards!  So, it was a big week.

For David's 37th Birthday dinner we went to Marrakesh.  For the past 7 years of our marriage I have heard about this restaurant and I am so happy that we were able to celebrate there together.  The experience begins when you arrive at the entrance down this little alley.  (In the past, there wasn't even a sign advertising.)  You knock on a locked door, they let you enter into this quaint little restaurant with small round tables and pillows galore.  You are then served a 6 course authentic Moroccan meal.  I think we ate David's birth year in pounds.  Everything was so delicious.

Marrakesh Bill.

The next day David and I headed out to see the Philadelphia Museum of Fine Arts and the Rodin Museum before David had to start interviews.

Me and Rocky.

David and I w/ Rocky.  Note to all other visitors: do not let the guy take your picture that claims he is the "Rocky photographer", he's not doing it to be nice.  He just wants your money.  David knew this, but I was clueless.

This is how David would take Rocky out.

Me attempting my "Rocky" run up the steps of the museum.  Too bad I was humming the wrong music!

get a picture taken here since he might be the ultimate thinker.

New York, New York

During July I took a quick weekend trip to New York to visit Amber, Jon and Suvi.  It was so fun to see them and tour a bit of New York.

Suvi really enjoying her Hazelnut Ice Cream.

Too cute not to share.

Getting ready for the rowboat ride through Central Park.

Me serious about my rowing abilities.

Closest I've ever been to the Statue of Liberty.

Off to church, bunny along for the ride.
Thanks Ambie, Jon and Suvi for a fun weekend! Come to Boston to visit!

If only we were billionaries

I would probably buy a boat and a waterfront house. This past weekend confirmed that. Sunday night we drove up to Wolfeboro, NH to spend Memorial Day at a friend's family lakehouse on Lake Winnipesaukee. The views were breathtaking and because bad weather was forecasted, the lake was nearly empty and we pretty much had it all to ourselves. The trip included eating delicious food (as usual), a rope swing, boating, wake surfing, paddle boarding, the hilliest run of my life and a game of Intense Uno (and it really was intense). Just a side note on Intense Uno: The winner of each hand makes up a new rule for the next round and the rules accumulate with each round. One rule included running around the large sectional after yelling Uno, then making it back to your seat before your next turn. This ended up with a little pushing, sweating and panting. I don't think I can ever go back to regular Uno again.

This picture does not do the rope swing justice.  We did have one near serious accident when someone missed the ball when jumping off the platform and ended up dragging their legs along the steps.  Ouch!  Luckily there were no broken bones.

David's jump.

The instructions and pep talk for us newbies.

Dave is so good, without ever getting in the water, he could wake surf while holding Thomas.

Ashley....9 months pregnant and being induced in 1 week.

Me, trying to get the hang of it, but not really wake surfing :).
The gang.  Plus little baby James sleeping under the steering wheel.

Paddle boarding looks extremely easy.  So easy that I was confident I could do it with my clothes on and not get wet.  Luckily the water was not choppy and there were hardly any boats to make waves, so I did pretty good...right up until I ran the board into the dock.  The board flew back, my legs slid forward.  David was luckily able to grab my arm and catch me before catastrophe struck.  Fortunately only my bum and legs got wet!

The boat ride to town for dinner and ice cream.

It's only appropriate to get a picture in front of the famous Bailey's Ice Cream where they give you a lot for a little.
Then we went back to the house, finished up packing and returned to reality.  Until next trip.

Just a little video of my rope swing excursion.
