Photo Test

David has been wishing, hoping and dreaming of a new camera for years. Then with the arrival of Porter, I finally jumped on board to get something new. In true David fashion, he's been researching cameras for several months and has a good friend in our ward that is well versed in the world of cameras, so they have spent hours talking and comparing different cameras. A couple of weeks ago the camera arrived, a Canon 6D . This past weekend we went out on a photo shoot of sorts so David could teach me some tricks since I know nothing about cameras besides how to point and shoot. It was a lot of fun and the pictures are so much better than our old camera. Although, it's going to take me a bit to figure it out and learn how to manage a camera and a baby.

Here are a few of the photos from our adventure to Hall's Pond and then downtown for dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown and a walk around Boston Common/Beacon Hill with friends.

I felt like I was getting my senior photos taken, so I had to strike a cheesy pose.

In front of the restaurant that makes the best sushi I've ever had.  Fugakyu.

Our little family. The little guy is wrapped up in David's coat because we forgot to bring our baby carrier with us.

We have a 60D. Our old DSLR got stolen in our break-in and it took about 2 weeks with our point and shoot to decide it was time to upgrade. Once you get the hang of the DSLR and the picture quality you'll never want to go back! Keep taking those photo shoots! I follow a blog, Digital Photography School, that gives me tons of tips. Of course,a lot of it is reviews of equipment, cameras, editing software, and tips for professionals, but it has a lot of good tutorials and information as well. And, Damien and I always sit down when we get a new camera and read the manual and take test pictures to test out all the manual settings. It helps a lot. Anyway, enjoy your new camera. It's about time. ;)
