Why?

Jonas asked his first "Why" question tonight.  We were driving home from a hike in Little Cottonwood Canyon and talking about the sun setting.  Over and over again Jonas asked, "The sun come up, why?"

Mornings

The other morning I heard Jonas yelling from his bed, "Momma, get me out!"  I thought it was funny, David thought it was rude.

Gardner's Village (9/27/16)

We decided to try out the petting zoo at Gardner Village.  I'll be honest, I was underwhelmed and unimpressed, especially for $5/kid.  The boys enjoyed it for the whole 20 min or so.  It was super dirty, small and seemed really unorganized.  At least the boys didn't notice.  On the other hand, Gardner's Village was cute and quaint.  It was decorated for Halloween and it was fun to walk around there.  

They had a witch scavenger hunt you could do for a $0.50 cookie at the bakery.  We started it, but we'd already been there for over and hour and I don't think Jonas was into it, so we just bought  a cookie to share.

The pig.  Porter got special treatment to pet him once the farmer showed up.

And swinging together later in the day.  Jonas wanted to hold Porter's hand.  Sometimes they are so sweet.

Modeling

I had no idea how much the second child would model the first.  Even though Jonas and Porter are very different, Jonas loves to do what Porter does and say what he says, especially if Porter laughs and encourages him.  So, Jonas has picked up a few bad phrases.

And he can walk around shooting a gun and using a sword like a champ... Not really sure that's what we were going for.  

I do love that the boys are getting to an age where they are starting to play together.  Really just in this last week they have started running around the house, laughing and playing. There is still a lot of fighting and crying since they will both hold their ground and aren't afraid to use physical force, but they really do love each other.  Jonas is always saying, "Where's Porter?"  And Porter will ask Jonas to give him a hug.  So sweet.
