January 2017

Too tired, lazy to blog at night, but I have to get back to it.  Otherwise I'll forget all the details and stories.

Mason smiles.  I feel like he's been doing it since he was born, but definitely in the last week or so. (1/29/17)
Jonas took naps in Porter's bed while we were in Hawaii.  Now tonight (12/30/17) he slept in Porter's bed overnight.  He's getting ready for a big boy bed.  He will actually read in his room until he goes to bed with minimal escaping:).

There has been so much snow and I actually love it!  It's so beautiful and fun to watch the boys play.

Porter is "helping" clear the walkway.

Uh oh!  Both boys now like to watch stuff on the phone or play games.  Fortunately there isn't much they can get to without us.

David and the boys decided to make homemade Rootbeer.  So much fun!

Love.  I love that my boys love each other.

Sometimes you are just worn out and bed is the best place to be.  When Porter is tired, he is all of a sudden so cold and needs to be snuggled up under a blanket.  And I guess in this case, needed to have a hat on too.

Look at that Dumb and Dumber haircut on Jonas.  Good thing his face is so cute.

Grandma and Grandpa Bailly came to visit and to meet baby Mason for the first time.  We got to go to their hotel to swim.

Porter has been known to put his underwear on backwards.  It does not look comfortable, but he doesn't seem to mind.

Eating donuts in the hotel bed.

Porter putting his clothes on all the wrong body parts.

I love how peaceful a sleeping baby looks.

 Smooshed nosed Jonas.  So cute.

Out for a walk with the boys.  Porter has been getting so good on his bike.  I can't believe he already rides without pedals.  Way to go buddy!

Mimi came to visit and meet Mason!  Prayers were answered and Porter bonded with Mimi and not once said anything mean to her!  Yeah.

Ashley and Mimi took the boys to a Lego exhibit at the Leonardo Museum.  It was crazy busy they said, but everyone still had fun.

Newborns make me exhausted.  But I still love all the snuggles.

Happy 41st Birthday David!  We had a low key dinner at home.  For dessert I made a scrumptious chocolate, peanut butter cheesecake.  It really was so good and you can tell that some little boy that it was pretty yummy too.

Gayle brought all this candy over for the boys to decorate a cake.  Oh my gosh was it A LOT of candy.  This was the final product.  How appetizing does that look?

Gayle took this cute boy to Chick Fil A and they got a lemonade shake.

For Mason's first outing when he turned 30 days, we took the boys to Jump Around Utah with Mimi and Ash.  It was a blast.

 Taking a snack break.

And just like that Mason is 1 month old!

Story time at the library.  Testing out his new googles for the activity.

When David and I went to Hawaii, Jackson and Melissa came to stay with the boys.  Of course, the boys were in heaven.  Jackson is so fun and Melissa knew how to handle the boys.  Everyone had fun.  It was great to know the boys were in great hands.

Both boys sometimes knock out in the car.  Fortunately, Jonas will transfer to his bed.  Unfortunately, Porter generally does not anymore.  But, at least he still gets a little nap.

 Sleepy smiles.

Both Porter and Jonas adore baby Mason.  Can you blame them?  Even though Porter still says he wants a baby sister, at least he loves Mason and will play with him and make him laugh.

Check-ups (1/3/17)

Both Jonas and Mason had well child check-ups.  Jonas had his 2 year and Mason his two week.
Mason has gotten so big.  He weighed 8 lbs, 13 oz.  His last appt two weeks ago he weighed 7 lbs 0.5 oz.  Dr. Smith and I decided I'm feeding him cream.  Heavy cream.

Jonas Stats:
Height: 33.25" (28%)
Weight: 25 lb, 4.8 oz (18%)

Mason Stats:
Height: 20.5" (38%)
Weight: 8 lb, 13.1 oz (51%)
HC: 35.9 cm (44%)

I'm so sad, but I didn't get any pictures from the appt.  Both boys are doing well and keeping healthy!

Birthday Boy- Jonas is 2! (12/31/16)

Happy Birthday to Jonas!   I can't believe this little peanut is 2.  He is such a joy, but one his second birthday he did something that definitely made David and I realize, he is now 2.

He is still such a fun loving boy.  He jabbers all the time and is trying to keep up with Porter.  He says sentences and actually has quite the sense of humor.  He is not sure of colors yet and says about most things, "Is that the purple one?"

There is something about Jonas that just makes you want to pick him up, squeeze him and kiss him.  Maybe it's his smile and the way his eyes light up.  He is still a momma's boy, but he is starting to love to play with dad too. He gets right along side Porter when Dad gets home and says, "Let's getting ready to rumble."

He loves to play legos with Porter, he likes trains, reading books, stickers, his superman jammie top, and he is starting to become particular with the blanket he uses.  He prefers the elephant muslin blanket.  He still loves milk in his sippy.  He loves most fruit and is actually a decent vegetable eater.  He loves roasted broccoli, pasta, pizza, applesauce, goldfish...  He goes through spurts of eating a lot and then not eating much, but that's normal, right?

We loved celebrating his birthday with him.  We had birthday cupcakes and played at home.

 Good morning Birthday Boy!

Look how happy he is to be 2!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cupcakes.  They were a hit.

I asked what he wanted for dinner and he said, "Pizza, cupcakes and ice cream."  So, of course we delivered his request.  That was easy enough.

 Attempting to blow.

Porter had to get in on the unwrapping of gifts.

Jonas is the sweetest big brother.  He loves Mason and is so tender with him.  As Mason has been around a little longer, Jonas becomes more and more protective of him.  He gets worried if people hold him that he doesn't know and is also protective of things that belong to baby Mason, like his car seat.  He does not want kids playing on it or anyone else picking it up.

We ended Jonas' birthday with a movie.  Look at my boys.  I'm so lucky.  This was the best way to end 2016!

The rest of December... (2016)

Because these boys are so loved, they got to go to Chuck E Cheese.

 Sweet baby Mason.

 Jonas ready to battle.

Dinosaur Land at City Creek.  Great place to play when it's cold outside.

Me and Mason.  They come out so little.

Dad and Jonas getting ready to play in the snow.

Burrr.  Building a snowman with Dad.  This little guy gets cold so easily, especially his little hands.

Porter trying to put his pull-up on OVER his jammies.  You can see how this ends.  Look at picture below.

We love story time at the library.  The boys picking out books.  Thanks to Aunt Ash they got to do lots of fun thing the weeks after Mason was born while I was keeping Mason away from the winter sicknesses.

Can you find the boys hiding?  Pretty sneaky.

Thanks to Ash, she played with Mason inside while I bundled up with the boys and enjoyed some fresh air and snowball fights.  Both boys thought it was fun to hit me with the snowballs.

I love how newborns throw their arms up while sleeping.

And the dreaded day has arrived... (2/18/17)

All parents dread the day their child climbs out of their crib.  It is the end to easy bedtimes and naptimes. This day came tonight.  Ugh!  With Porter's encouragement and laughter, Jonas easily got out and proudly came into my bedroom to tell me, "I got out of my crib."  You better believe he was pretty proud.  He didn't go to bed until 10:30!
