Scout Campout (3/25)

Porter got to go camping with the Scouts tonight.  He was so excited. David and him came home briefly to get ready for bed and he proudly showed me the little totem pole he painted.  He then said he roasted marshmallows, Eric gave him a cookie and dad gave him a cookie.  He's getting his fill of sweets for sure.

It sure is quiet when he's not here, but I'm glad he's having fun.  Jonas and I got to spend a little time together.  Love him. We went to the store and he was waving hello to everyone.  He makes people's day with his big toothy grin.

15 month Dr appt (4/1)

Jonas is growing up.  Although he's still smaller on the growth curve.  We sure love this sweet boy. He really is a joy to have in our lives.

Emigration Half Marathon (4/2)

Two weeks ago I decided to sign up for a half marathon in our area.  I kept seeing signs for it and figured I might as well sign up.  The race was a course I have run most of before and was familiar with, plus I didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn.  That's always a bonus.
Prior to the race I ran two 11 milers just to make sure I was up for the challenge and I ran fine.
The morning of the race I had the normal anxious excitement.  All the boys drove me to the start line and it was so fun to have them there.
The beginning 4+ miles are mostly uphill with some steeper sections, so I was a little nervous and didn't want to start out too fast.  I felt great those beginnings miles and realized hindsight I probably could have pushed a little harder.  I was hoping to run at least 1:50, but I didn't make it.  I'm still happy with my results and was just glad to have been able to run.

Now I want to run more races!!!

Time: 1:52:35
Part of my sweet cheering section.

The cool man waiting for the race to start.

T-ball (4/9/16)

Porter had his first day of T-ball.  We had orientation and then a short practice.  This should be a fun season....

Mike (a parent) volunteered to be the coach and he was fabulous.  He had the kids "take a knee" when he talked with them and he had great enthusiasm.

On Porter's team he has a few friends.  Tanner Mitchell, Olivia and Conner Clayton and Ollie Griffis.
Porter looked super cute in his shirt too big and his large hat pulled down low.

Impromptu Park City trip (4/6-4/8)

David's Uncle Ron had come to town and offered for us to use his time share since he wasn't not using it for the entire week.  We decided it would be fun to have a little get away.  So, we went up there for a few nights and Ashley met us up there for the last night.
We did lots of swimming, Porter got to watch two Star Wars movies and we visited our first ever mountain bike park.  We brought Porter's bikes (peddle bike and balance bike) so he could try out the kids track.  It was a fun trip and nice to get away.  Sometimes just not being home lets us relax and focus on the boys and not all the day to day stuff we feel like we have to get done at home.

Watching Star Wars with his light saber.

This kiddo has learned how to water mother nature.  But, this was his first experience fertilizing it also.  That was quite a messy experience.  Fortunately David tackled that one.  I'm not sure that David appreciated the amount of substance that Porter is able to dispose of.
