Tonight we had a little get together at the Griffiths and then had friends over to watch the Christmas Devotional. Porter was a riot. He knows President Eyring, Uchtdorf and Monson.

Weekend Fun
Uncle Randall is in town visiting and it's fun to have him here. Even though it's pretty warm for December in Utah, being from AZ he gets cold. Yesterday we took him for a hike and we attempted Temple Square, but it was a zoo. We'll try again this week. Porter really wants to see the statue of Jesus.

We love Santa
Porter constantly talks about Santa. He has run down the checklist of what he'll do when he sees Santa. It consists of:
1)"nice"- being nice
2) "kiss"- giving Santa a kiss
3) "bike"- asking Santa for a bike
When he knows we are at a place where he can see Santa, he frantically (obsessively), chants "Santa" over and over again until he is in his sights. Then when we get in line, he starts to freak out a bit saying "go, go, go" while pointing out away from Santa. His little legs squeeze my sides and he clings to me.
We have seen Santa twice. Then because I am the nicest Mom ever, I make him go all the way up to Santa. This is when the tears start and more frantic pointing outside. But, since there was no photo during his first visit, I make him meet Santa again yesterday, just for the photo op.
You have to love a crying kid meeting Santa.
The funniest part is that as soon as we leave all he can do is talk about Santa again. I guess he just wants Santa to come to our house, come down the chimney, drop off presents and skedaddle before Porter has to catch a glimpse of him in person.
Success!
Yesterday I went into the hospital for my external cephalic version (ECV). They hooked me up to an IV and baby monitor to watch the baby for at least 20 min. They ran down all the list of possible complications. I met the anesthesiologist on just in case I needed an emergency c-section. I told him I didn't plan on seeing him again:). And when he said they'd "try" to flip the bother, I told him there was no "try", they would "do".
So there was a lot of build up to the actual procedure which literally lasted about 5-10 min.
The outcome: a successful turn from frank breech to head down. Whoo hoo! Now he just needs to stay down until delivery.
I was expecting the procedure to be so much more painful and quite frankly it wasn't bad. There was pressure when they lifted his butt up out of my pelvis, but it was not nearly as bad as I anticipated, had read about it they tried to warn me about. David joked that I keep it together well during this and childbirth, but if my hands are rewarming after a day of skiing with poor gloves, I'm a disaster.

Catch Up
David was on service for 10 days straight so Porter and I held down the fort. It was a really busy week for David so we didn't get to see him much.
We have just been getting ready for Christmas and the baby. Poor Porter has had to run LOTS of errands and go shopping. He will grab my wallet now, go to the back door and say, "Shopping". I'm not even a shopper, so clearly this shows that we have been shopping too much.
Here is our week in pictures:
Porter likes to hide behind the table when he poops. He will say, "Hiding, hiding." We all know exactly what he is doing.
Everything we do is copied. I clip Porter's fingers nails over a paper towel. The other day I was getting ready and I heard Porter get up on the kitchen table. I came to check on him and found him with a paper towel under his toes and the clippers in hand.
Our dear friend Gayle has been spoiling Porter again. She got him a toy that is reminescent of my childhood. My grandparents had this toy at their house and all the grandkids loved it.
She also picked up a big talking Olaf. He is Porter's new best friend. He dances with him and wants to cuddle with him at night. We watched our first movie with Porter the other night, "Frozen". It was amazing that he actually sat still for a large majority of it.
For Thanksgiving, David actually got to break away from the hospital and was able to join us for dinner. I was grateful for this! We had dinner with our dear friends, Alli and Dustin Boothe, and Dustin's family. With family far away, it is great to have friends that include us and make us feel part of their family.
For Thanksgiving, Porter helped make a "cherry pie".
Me 36 weeks pregnant (Nov 27). Unfortunately the little man is still breech so I am having an external cephalic version done tomorrow. We'll see how this goes. I am hoping for him to be turned so I can avoid a c-section since there is only one physician that will attempt a breech delivery and the risks to both mother and fetus are probably not worth the attempt.
We finally got around to getting a Christmas tree and starting to put up decorations. I love Christmas, the music, the decorations, the spirit and excitement in the air. This year Porter is old enough to understand and participate in things. It is so fun to teach him about Christmas and to see him get excited. I can't wait for Christmas morning to see him open his presents. We are fortunate to have my parents and Ashley both coming for Christmas. Our first year hosting... and hopefully we'll have a new little boy with us.
