Ski date
David and I took the day to go skiing at Alta. It was beautiful and the most fun I have ever had skiing.
The before:
The during:
David and I are both newbies at skiing and this was our first trip together. The majority of my experience skiing was on a "mountain" in St. Louis that is a golf course during the summer, so that should give you some idea of the quality. The resort is called Hidden Valley. If I'm not mistaken, generally skiing has nothing to do with a valley, but everything to do with a mountain. Needless to say, skiing on a real mountain with real snow was so much more fun. I did fall twice, but only on the steepest part of the run, so I count it as a successful trip. Despite escaping without injury, I definitely need more practice and possibly a lesson so that I don't kill someone or myself. I managed to pick up a lot of speed and felt like a loose cannon flying down the mountain ready to take out anyone that crossed my path. Fortunately there were no collisions and I had enough control to avoid the other skiers, but I might not be so lucky next time. There were a few new skills I learned with David's help and hopefully I'll get really comfortable with it. Skiing is a great escape and why not take advantage of living where the skiing is great.

Snowballs
Today I taught Porter the art of snowball making and snowball throwing. At first he just stared at me, but then he started to see how fun it is. I am sure we will have many more snowball adventures.

Healthy snack
Porter got in the fridge and picked himself out a healthy snack. At least he went for something better than I would.
