This morning the boys and I were heading out to the gym. We got in the car and it wouldn't start. We tried a couple times and the radio and air would go on, but the engine wouldn't start. I was a little frustrated because I wanted to go to the gym and I had a PT appt a couple hours later. Randall didn't have his jump pack and our jump pack was in David's car at the hospital. Our car was parked on the side of the house, so there was no way to get a car beside it to jump it. I texted David and he was going to come home to use the jump box. In the meantime, I told Porter we should say a prayer and ask Heavenly Father to help us. I said, "Porter, do you have enough faith?" He said, "I have enough faith." Then he wanted to offer the prayer. This isn't word for word but it went something like this, Heavenly Father, Jonas must have left something on in the car and it won't work. Bless our car to work.
He closed the prayer and we tried to start the car again. It didn't start and we sat a minute longer. Then I though I should turn off the radio and the A/C and try it again. It worked! The faith of little Porter was so pure and strong. We then offered a prayer of gratitude and went on our way. As we were driving we had the chance to talk about Heavenly Father hearing and answering our prayers. I was so grateful for the experience with Porter and Jonas. I hope they always remember that Heavenly Father cares about the little things in our lives.
Then at the gym I was telling the worker about our can not starting and Porter piped in, "We said a prayer."
