More random pics

We started the first book in the series, The Chronicles of Narnia.  Porter has gotten into it and if you wonder how much he gets, you'd be surprised. He totally pays attention and asks great questions and references things that happened chapters ago.

Jonas loves to jump, jump, jump.

Porter put a lot of characters to "sleep" in their beds.

And he used Ashley as a step stool.  Success!

Jonas and I were up early to check out the pretty snow.  And we were thinking of the Troutman's and the Lower's on the east coast getting pummeled by Winter Storm Jonas.

Taking the hard way back to the car.  David made sure to point out that there were no other footprints up there.  Most  people used the cleared sidewalk.  Porter didn't care.  He was about 5 feet up.

During RS I had left a little early because Jonas was fussy.  When I was in the foyer I heard two voices in the chapel.  One voice sounded like Porter, so I checked it out.  Sure enough, I found Porter and Brother Russon on the stand chatting.  I observed for a bit and then joined in.  I guess Porter had been a little too affectionate towards another girl in nursery so they decided to take him out. Uh oh! He is too young for this.

Jonas is so close to walking.  He has taken 4+ steps at random times when he doesn't realize he's doing it, but if you try to get him to walk, he will bend his body in half.  Silly boy.  And, we are pretty sure he said, "Ash".

More projects

In our basement was a storage room that we are slowly converting into an office.  Porter has been involved with projects every step of the way.  The hole patching, mudding and painting.  You can't keep this kid away.

And this is what David would look like with salt and pepper hair.

Chuck E Cheese (1/18)

For Christmas the Waisath's gave us a gift card to Chuck E Cheese.  Porter had been asking to go there after we drove by it last month.

So, for FHE we headed over. It was a lot of fun.  Porter ran all over.  I'm not sure why we even bought any tokens.  He would Mive from game to game.  David caught me finishing a game when Porter had moved on to the next thing.  We bought 80 tokens.  We used 19!  Guess that means we'll be going again.

At first he wanted nothing to do with the mouse.  Then he changed his mind.

Happy 40th Birthday! (1/15)

The main man in the home turned 40!  What?!  Where has the time gone?  How are we so old with a 2 year old and a 1 year old?

We let him sleep in and we made him his favorite breakfast: biscuits and sausage gravy.  There was a scout overnight, so we didn't get to celebrate much.  But, we threw David a surprise party the next weekend.  He loves a party.

Porter loved singing him Happy Birthday.

He had a special delivery of chocolate covered strawberries from my parents.

The boys loved the balloon.  Maybe that's because they didn't realize what was in the box.

Cute randomness

Sitting in a booster seat at the table like a big boy.  Does someone look proud?!

New trucks from Grandma and Grandpa Bailly.  We accidentally opened them.  They were supposed to be for Porter's birthday.

More bed jumping.
He's starting to get into books.  He really likes the animal ones and will "moo" like a cow.  He also likes "Goodnight, Gorilla" and pretends to cover his mouth and yawn.  Pretty cute.

Porter insisted on wearing my shoes to return a pan to our neighbor.

At the zoo with Uncle Randall.  The boys got to ride the carousel.

Aunt Melissa and Sophie came to town, so we met up with them.  Porter lucked out because there was a hot tub.  He was super excited.

Dressing up as Alphabet Pig...its from a show he watched.  He made sure to have all the key costume parts...hat, goggles, tool belt.

Both boys have learned to drink the cereal milk from the bowl.  I am to blame.

Mastering the spoon.  At least that's what it looks like.

He's found the handle...

Christmas Round 2 (12/29/15)

We got back from AZ and the boys had more Christmas gifts to open.  I think I'm not going to buy them anymore gifts since they get so many from everyone else!

More Legos.  A construction truck from Mimi and Papa.

Listening to Mimi "read" him Twas the Night Before Christmas.  Check out his hands:).

1 Year (12/31/15)

Our sweet Jonas turned!  He is such a joy.  He is a mover.  Not walking, but crawling.  He mimics the sounds we make.  Says mama, dada and we're pretty sure he said ball when we were in AZ.  He is a good eater and tends to stuff too much in his mouth at once.  He has his 4 top teeth and 2 bottom.
These were his stats at his DR appt on 1/4/16:
Height: 29.09" (20%)
Weight: 19 lb, 5 oz (18%)
HC: 44.56cm (11%)
He's a little guy, but he's proportionate.

He's slowing growing out of his stranger anxiety phase, but he still loves mom best.  He loves chasing a ball, exploring, pulling stuff out of drawers and cabinets. He likes bath time, tickles and can be found carrying a toothbrush/wooden spoon/toy character or something else in his hand.  He loves to be outside, dancing, music and he's a bit of a flirt/tease.

Life is better because he's part of it.  Porter loves him and he loves Porter.  Porter calls him:
Sweet baby Jonas
Jonesy
Jonesiabinga
Jonas Keith Bailly
And whatever other random thing he can at to the end of Jonas.

He was sick right around his birthday. Poor kid.

And he loves jumping on Porter's bed.

Mr Independent

Jonas no longer wants me to spoon feed him.  He will not take the food from me.  I generally don't, but last night was soup for dinner and today was oatmeal for breakfast.  So, I turned breakfast over to him.  He did pretty good with the spoon in his own.

Announcements

Today the church announced a new mission, Vietnam Hanoi Mission.  I immediately shed tears.  This is so exciting, most especially because David served a Vietnamese mission stateside so many years ago.

New Year's at Bear Lake (12/31/15-1/1/16)

Our friends, Greta and Eric Griffiths,
invited us to Bear Lake for New Year's along with the Murdock's and the Kirry's.  It was a lot of fun.  I almost didn't go because I'd been sick, but I'm glad I did. We went sledding and just hung out.  We had an awesome Prime Rib dinner prepared by Alex.  Delicious.  Porter loved the cabin too just hanging out with all the kids.

Watching the sledding.  It was in the single digits or negatives. Since Jonas was sick I didn't take him out, but he wanted to go play.

Watching Star Wars with the big kids.

The dinner.

Dance party.

We didn't quite make it to midnight.  We out Porter to bed at 10 and we followed along.  I knew I'd be up early and I much prefer sleep.
