Can this really be happening?
My boys are getting too big. Jonas is looking more and more like a toddler and Porter is looking more and more like a little boy.
"I don't see Porter."
We spent the afternoon fingerprinting yesterday. It's all fun and games until the body artwork begins. I was completely fine with Porter self expression of art until he started painting Jonas, the back door, the porch furniture etc, etc.
But, I did love when he said, "I don't see Porter." "I look like a monster."
Family and Friends
This summer has been great! We have been blessed to have so many visitors. This past week my college roommate, Erica, came into town. I last saw her when I was pregnant with Porter. The little boys and I met up with her at The Gateway splash pad. I got to meet her two kiddos too. There was also a bday party for Erica at Sugar House park that we stopped by for.
Then David's Aunt Wendy came to town with her kids. We had them over for dinner and another night met up with them and two of David's cousins, Garrett Tryon and James Hoffman, and their families at Sugar House Park.

Silver Lake (8/18)
We took the boys fishing. We didn't catch anything, but Porter loved being in charge of his own fishing pole. Unfortunately he wasn't great at taking instructions from David, so his line tangled A LOT! But, he is only 2, so what can you expect. You don't want to squash that independence too much:).
My boys
Today was one of those days where I fell in love with my boys all over again. There are times everyday that I do, but today was most of the day. Porter is growing up so fast. He is maturing and learning to handle his emotions better. He says thank you often and he loves Jonas. They took there first bath together and Porter was so happy to have Jobas with him. Jonas wasn't quite sure about it, so Porter gave him a kiss.
Porter talks non stop. He loves doing "exspheriments", playing with trucks, play doh, swinging and running. He also loves helping with everything we do. He is adamant that he does most everything on his own.
Jonas is still a momma's boy. He will go to other people sometimes, but when I get him back he grabs my face and kisses my cheek as if we've been apart for way too long. I love it. He scoots in circles on his bum and somehow manages to move a bit. But for the most part he's still pretty stationary. He does pull himself up now, but needs a little boost. He WANTS food now and is in a screaming phase when he wants something. The screaming is LOUD and ear piercing.
Porter had his 30 month DR's appt yesterday and he was so good. He talked non stop to the Dr. Smith. Asking questions, telling her stuff, etc. she said he's so smart and she said, "I'm sure he's a handful, but he's so delightful."
That is so true. But, he is truly delightful and he redeems himself daily.

Putting out fires
We were playing at the park with friends when a fire engine and trucks pulled up. There was a new firefighter being trained, so they were there practicing drills. They let the kids watch and then let them all in on the action when they were done. I may or may not have joined in:).
So excited to be putting out a "fire".

Back at it
I did my first half marathon in 5 or 6 years! It was fun to race again. I have been training with friends, Jana Mitchell, Adrianne Murdock and Greta Griffiths. We ran the Mt Timp Half. The morning of the race was quite adventurous. We had to be there between 3:45am and 4:30am. We were on our way when someone realized they'd left their racing bib at home, so we turned around to get it. We arrived at the race pickup site at 4:30 exactly. Then the bus taking us up to the starting line broke down. We had to wait for another bus. We got to the starting line about 15 min before the race started. We all had to use the bathroom.
The race was beautiful. Probably the best course I've run. It was a downhill out of the canyon and then some rolling hills along a path. I had a goal of 1:45, but had not trained for that pace. Pretty early on I could tell I wasn't going to get that, but I did finish in 1:50, and I was thrilled. I have some more hardworking to increase my speed, but I'm just glad I got to "race" again.
7 months old
Jonas has the best birthdays! We went to Seven Peaks with Ash in the am. He went down another waterslide and so did Porter, but Porter was not so thrilled. He would not go down another one.
Then Porter had a "sleep night over" with Ash, so Jonas had Mom and Dad to himself. We met up with the Murdock's and Griffith's for a carb loading Italian dinner at Nuch's. It was great food.
Jonas continues to be my side kick. I think he's starting to teeth because he has gotten fussy, although he will still burst out in a big smile and giggle like crazy when you tickle him. He says momma and dada, although he has no idea what he's saying. He loves to watch Porter and laughs at him all the time...as long as Porter keeps his distance. He lets you know what he wants or doesn't want by screaming. That's fun:). We call him the bucking bronco because he's always moving. He eats 3 meals a day along with breastfeeding. He likes most everything he eats. I'm mostly just giving him prepared baby food, so we'll see how he is when he eats table food. He still gets up at night to eat once or twice. I know I need to stop it! He sleeps from about 7pm to 6am and takes two naps. Generally the naps are 1 to 2 hours long each. He is still not even close to crawling, but he loves to stand with help and we walk a little bit holding my hands. Also, no rolling! He can move himself around in his back and move in a circle, but he's still stationary. We sure love him!
More catch up
David and Gerald Williams
Taking Porter for a drive. This kid thinks he's old enough to drive.
Silver Lake
Porter now wants to wash his own hands and get drinks from the sink.
One day Porter would not take a nap. He literally was slurring his words and his eyes were rolling back in his head, then he just laid down and fell asleep.
We sure love swinging around here.
And not so tender:).
Sporting my race "tattoo".
Our good friend's Jacki and Brandon Hill were in town and stayed with us last night. Porter LOVES having kids to play with. He immediately put Annie and Jayne to work. I'm pretty sure they were all into it.
