Love

These boys bring me so much joy.  I probably give them about a million kisses a day, but wouldn't you too?

Jonas' Baby Blessing Weekend

Jonas was blessed on Sunday, March 29th.  David's parents came in town and Keara and Ash came up from Provo.  The blessing was beautiful and sweet.  Just like Jonas.

The following people stood in the circle:
Dan Murdock
Cale Brown
David Broadbent
Keith Bailly
Scott Curtis
Eric Griffiths

Jenny Workman and her husband came to the blessing as well as Rebecca Dixon and her partner Anne.  These are two of David's co workers.  Amber Hogan came too.  It is Spring Break, so a lot of people were out of town.

After church we had a get together.
More pics to come .

Happy 3 Month Birthday Jonas!

Jonas is such a happy, cuddly, smiley baby.  We are so happy to have his sweet, calming presence in our lives.

He coos, giggles, has started making more sweet baby noises.  He holds his head up so well and everyone comments about how strong he is and how good he is.  He still loves to be held but sleeps so much better by himself in his bed.  A couple nights he has gone 6-7 hours between feeds!  He is a quick eater about 10 min.  He sucks on his hands and is always kicking.

Block Party and Up & Down

We had a block party on the 21st.  It was a lot of fun and lots of people showed up.

Porter has not being going to sleep lately.  He stays up so late.  And he comes up stairs, then goes back downstairs about 10 times.  We call it his up and down.  So he tells us, "No up and down."  He has been staying up until 10:30pm!  Way, way too late even if he is sleeping in nail 7:30am or so.  Help!

Update

We had the neighbor boys Chase and Jacob over to play.  Somehow all the boys ended up wearing helmets.  It was probably a wise choice because Chase and Porter often have it out.  Even though they love playing together, there is often fighting.  It was cute when Chase got here because Porter was so excited. He yelled,"Chase!"  Then he threw open his arms and said, "Hugs."  So cute!

Sunday family walk.  Porter was showing us that he is still strong and can hang.

This kid loves a spoonful of peanut butter and often asks for a "big one" of "peanut but".

Sweetness.  Stop growing up.  Jonas is my little cuddle bug.  I kiss his squishy cheeks all day long.

Porter and I practicing our frowny faces for the primary song, "Smiles".

We got free tickets from work for the Utah Jazz vs Portland Trailblazers Game tonight.  Gayle Masters, Katie and Betsy Curtis came with us.  It was so fun.  Porter mostly just wanted to find Jazz Bear.

Gayle brought Porter a yummy Easter cookie.

Love this family of mine.  After the game David had Jonas really giggling.  I think that's the first time.  So sweet!

Shenanigans and Lephrechans

While I feed Jonas, it's wise to find something that will keep Porter occupied.  I decided that he could watch these construction truck videos on you tube only during feedings.  This keeps him out of trouble.  Well, he had gotten mad and thrown my phone, so he lost the privilege.  Unfortunately I got punished too.  Feeding Jonas takes only 10-15 min.  A lot can happen during that time.  Here is just one example of mischief and this picture was after cleaning up some of it!

The weather has been so nice, so we've been spending lots of time outside.  Porter found the perfect place to play trucks.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Porter loved the green milk and small green pancakes the lephrachan left.

We headed to the zoo first thing in the morning.  It was quiet and warm.  I had so much fun with the boys.

Love this sweet boy!

And this one.

Gayle brought us HUGE pieces of pie.  Porter got himself a large spoonful of pie and said, "Porter eat the big one."  Just like his mom, except I don't refer to myself in third person:).

The other night David had ward correlation meeting at our house.  Porter would not stay in his room for bed and I was hesitant to lock and close his door for fear that everyone would think he was being tortured.  The missionaries gave him a booklet and he finally went to sleep in our bed holding it.

This little guy is pure joy.  I love his snuggles, his tender smiles and babbling.    So glad he is a part of our family.

On the mend

Porter was sick for about 24 hours and then just had a little diarrhea the next few days, but he still doesn't have his appetite back yet.  Fortunately he still drinks and is now eating some.  But, illness never stops him from having fun.

Porter went on a "cleaning" spree after being sick.  He had a spray bottle and rag.  I was not exempt from the cleaning either.  He sprayed me in the face and said, "Clean momma."

Jonas thought it was all hilarious.

The weather has been so nice again that we've been heading outside to play a lot.  Thank goodness for a park right up the street where we get a little change of scenery.

This little guy is rocking tummy time.  He is so strong.

So sweet!

Off on a walk to Walmart to see trucks.  Real construction trucks.  Someone is excited.

We had to stop in and see the play trucks too.  Sometimes it's hard to leave.  This is the before picture.  There is no after picture since I was attempting a descreet departure...I failed.  There was body thrashing and lots of crying.

Our dear friend Gayle loving on Jonas on her way home from work.
Nap time turns into to snuggle time when Porter tries to delay it.  Sometimes I give in for a quick snuggle before he's sent back to his room. He's only going to want to snuggle for so long.

At the duck pond with friends.  Happiness comes in many forms for Porter.  This is one of them.  He runs around gleefully feeding the ducks.  He is extremely generous with some of his bread balls.  They can be about the size of a golf ball and could knock a duck unconscious if they hit them in the head.

We also went swimming and had visitors.  Candie and Bernice Garcia came to stay the night while in town to visit a mission companion of Candie's.  These two are some of my YW from Colton, CA.  They are all grown up!

All in a day's work

We had a bug company come out to spray after the weather had warmed up and we starting getting ants.  I was grossed out, Porter was fascinated.  I caught him using the shower head attachment to spray for and kill ants.  He even made a "spraying noise".  This kid has taken on a few professions and I might say he's actually very good at all of them.

When he wasn't busy "working", he took time to play with Jonas.

And I do mean "play".  I left the room to hang up a picture and came back to this.

Jonas was a great sport. He realized Porter was just honing his taping skills.

Then at bedtime Porter must have worked himself sick because he ended up ill.  He came up from his room complaining of a sore tummy.  He threw up twice.  Then he just wanted to sit in my lap on the kitchen floor drinking "bitey" lemonade soda (Sierra Mist).  We sat there for awhile until I kind of freaked out when he started slurring his words and his eyes were rolling back in his head.  I had David check him out and he decided it was fine to watch him and that he just might be really tired and have a virus.  Finally around 11pm he fell asleep in my bed after another episode of throwing up.  He woke up every so often to throw up.  Unfortunately he said "No way" to throwing up in a bowl and ended up mostly throwing up on the bed.  Our bed was covered with towels just in case.  Poor little man was not himself.  But he did keep drinking and we made it through the night.  It was exhausting manning a sick child and a newborn. David tried to help out, but he has to work in the hospital this week, so he had to get sleep, keep from getting sick and he can't breastfeed:).

Porter was so not himself.  He would give one word answers but I knew he was coming around when he was bargaining for more medicine and he started jabbering around 3am.

He wasn't quite himself yesterday because he wasn't back to eating and he had diarrhea, but that did not stop him from playing hard.  Oh, and he took a 4 hour nap!

Two sippies.  He had to hold them.

The scene.

Catch up

Dad's arm workout.

Me and my sweet boy.

It snowed!  Porter loved playing outside with his trucks, making a snowman and snowballs.  The boys hung out in Jammie's all day.

Dad and Porter made "Porter Square" with train tracks all around it.

Dad took Porter to see trucks.  He lived it.  He got right up in the truck and immediately put his hands on the gears and wanted to drive.  He asked David for the keys to turn it on.  When David didn't have the keys, he told David it needed new batteries to work.

Swimming at Gayle's.  Porter floated by himself and dad dunked him under water. He didn't love either one:).  I swam with him on my back.
Naps with a sweet baby are the best.

More trucks outside, now in nice weather.
Playing with "safe" tools.

Bath time with Jonas.  He's getting too big for the sink:(.
