Bathtime
Someone is getting too big for his "bathtub". David laughs at me that I use this pink basin to bathe Porter, but I don't want to buy anything else since we are moving and I think the kitchen sink is too dirty. But, pretty soon Porter won't fit in this basin anymore and I'm going to have to upgrade him to either the bathroom or kitchen sink. I better get used to giving that kitchen sink a good scrub.
Just a little more sleep please.
Last Saturday night, we went to a birthday party for our friend, Dave Pratt. After staying up way too late for a breastfeeding mama, I wanted to squeeze just a little bit more sleep out of the little man before I woke up on Sunday. So, when he started crying Sunday morning, I let him lie on my chest where we both slept another hour. I got extra sleep and we got to snuggle, which is the best. David snapped this picture of us in the act.
117th Boston Marathon and Expo
The Boston Marathon is a big deal here and the expo the weekend before is huge. David had to work, so Porter and I met up with Peggy to go downtown to the Hynes Convention Center to enjoy the pre-marathon festivities and get lots of free samples. Peggy and I had fun, Porter slept through almost all of it!
We enjoyed the race and had fun cheering friends on. Around 2:15pm when all of our friends, but one had passed by where we were watching out in front of our apartment in Coolidge Corner, we decided to head back inside because it was freezing and I needed to de-thaw. A little after 3pm I received a phone call from my mom asking if we were alright. This was the first I heard about the explosions at the finish line. I was shocked. I had heard several sirens, but living within a mile from multiple hospitals makes you somewhat immune to sirens. Over the next several hours we watched the news as more information came forth about the victims. Our heart goes out to those that have been injured either physically and/or emotionally by this selfish and hateful act. As I thought about the evil that surrounds us and those that are Satan's army, I was reminded that there is still so much good in this world. I was holding my sweet baby that is so pure and innocent and I held him just a little tighter. I thanked Heavenly Father for the safety of my little family and for the reminder that He is in control. Acts such as this can cause us to go through life in fear, but that is not Heavenly Father's will. He wants us to move forward with faith, trusting Him.

Porter's Visitors
I am way behind in posting and better catch up before I get even more
behind. Near the end of March Porter had a couple of visitors. Let's
me honest, they came to see him and it was just a bonus that David and I
got to hang out with them too.
My little sister Ash flew in for a week and it was so nice to have her here. She even let Porter sleep in her room (aka the family room) and would cuddle him at night if he cried until he fell asleep so that I could go to sleep. She helped clean, cook and even helped me plan and throw a baby shower. David and I agreed that we might have to take her on all of our vacations. She was fabulous! Porter loved snuggling her and taking naps on her lap. He can't wait to live closer to her in just a few months. I think he knows she will spoil him like she does all her nieces and nephews.
While she was here we decided to show her a bit of the NE, so we took a mini trip to Newport, RI. David and I wanted to see a few more mansions before we left the East coast. We stayed at the Hilton on Goat's Island and enjoyed the beautiful ocean views with the snow falling. Porter was so good the entire trip. Best baby ever.
Amber, Jon and Suvi came to visit too and we all toured downtown Boston. Porter enjoyed playing tour guide and he got to see a few new things himself. He also loved his cousin Suvi. She is the sweetest little girl and has the most precious voice.
We are sad to leave the NE and the Troutman's. Hopefully we can see them one more time before we do.

Suvi wanted to help feed Porter. She was such a helper. |
I wanted to take Suvi out for a treat, so we went to the party store by our house. I LOVE it. It is so fun just to walk around. |
Suvi picked out a pink frosted cupcake and you can tell she is excited to dive in. |

I couldn't help myself. I had to pick out a treat for me too. Big Bird. Really I just wanted this one because it had the most frosting. |
